14.11.19   My Thursday evening class brought my client up to the two and a half hour point of his Mixed Martial Arts course. We trained four combinations looking at striking entries to grappling.   The lesson warmed up with callisthenics specific to MMA and agility drills working footwork, takedowns and top position movement on the ground. Sit Out & Suplex! (diary entry)


11.06.19 Tuesday night my client finished the eighth hour of his 10 hour basic clinch/stand-up grappling course. We looked more at linking up different takedowns, counters, introduced the suplex and worked more on defence. Training also went to the ground from a wrestling perspective. After wrestling callisthenics and dynamic stretching we went straight into bulling and pummelling exercises. Catching Kicks & the Clinch (diary entry)

05.03.19 The fifth hour of my client’s basic course in Muay Thai for martial arts cross training brought him onto the clinch. The picture above is a totally illegal form of takedown for Muay Thai, but perfectly legal in MMA. We also revised all previous techniques and introduced the diagonal knee strike.
