Style through MMA Kickboxing (diary entry)

Hour four of my couple clients’ course on MMA and individual style development looked at the use of kicks.

Client 1: 

The swarmer/muay bouk approach here was all about going to the body and leg from shifting angles. I had my client constantly change stance as she cornered her opponent. Lead hooks would be thrown ahead of both lead and rear round kicks, offering different options. She showed marked improvement with head movement and retaining her guard.

Client 2: 

The outboxer/muay femur approach looked at countering round kicks. We began with shin-checks to round kick then shin-checks to teeps and then straight up beating the round kick with a teep.

The lesson concluded with 3 x 3 minute rounds restricted to these styles within kickboxing parametres with minimum clinching and wearing MMA gloves. There was also a PNF contract/relax static stretching warm-down.
