Wednesday night’s 1.5 hour lesson went back through the core basics of Wrestling before going back over the double-leg takedowns. After a dynamic stretch we went through the following workout (2 minute rounds with 1 minute active rest):
First Sequence
Round 1: Collar and elbow tie “bulling”
Active rest: Indian press-ups
Round 2: Collar and elbow tie sparring (upper body only)
Active rest: Indian squats
Round 3: Over-hook/under-hook “pummelling”
Active rest: Sit-outs
Round 4: Over-hook/under-hook sparring (upper body only)
Second Sequence
Round 1: Arm-drag “pummelling”
Active rest: arm-drag counter drill
Round 2: Arm-drag sparring
Active rest: Double leg takedown reps
Round 3: Shoot only sparring
Active rest: sprawls
Round 4: Shoots and picks from grips only
We went back over the arm-drag/single-leg/double-leg set up attack first before going back to the basic double-leg takedown shoot. I spent a lot of time working on level changing.
