New Boxing Course (diary entry)

Beginner Boxing Class05.01.2025

Today began my new client’s first course with me. After a discussion on what she required, we settled on Boxing. In essence she was interested in learning martial arts as a means for improving overall fitness. Her husband has been a client of mine on and off and her son trained with me briefly.

We used the following skill development games, trained first as warm-up exercises and then put into 2-minute rounds:

  1. Foot stepping – attack only
  2. Foot stepping/target tagging – attack only
  3. Foot stepping/target tagging versus foot stepping
  4. Foot stepping/target tagging versus foot stepping/target tagging
  5. Attack only Boxing sparring
  6. One-for-one Boxing sparring
  7. Focus mitt burn out
