New Boxing Course Continues (diary entry)

Boxing for women second lesson19.01.2025

Sunday morning’s lesson was my new client’s second hour in her Boxing course. We continued on building better movement and work with her jab whilst layering in defences. Range was also a regular topic as can be seen below.

2-minute constraints-led rounds:

  • Footstepping
  • Lineal shoulder tag – taking turns to call number of taps and retreating to safe zone
  • Freestyle shoulder tag
  • Attack versus defence
  • Catching defence (long range)
  • Forearm block (mid range)
  • Shoulder block (mid-to-close range)
  • Cover (close range) and overhand counter
  • One-for-one sparring within a confined area
  • Pad-work
  • Pad-work
  • Tabata on the bag, alternating between speed and power rounds.
