MMA Guard Games (diary entry)

My 1.5 hour client continued his MMA ground-fighting with work from the guard position. As with the previous his previous lesson, we worked from the hardest position onwards.

After a muscle activation and sport specific warm-up there were our 3-minute games:

  1. From flattened half-guard – move to dominant position or knee-shield vs land five continuous punches or pass guard
  2. Ditto
  3. Ditto from other side
  4. Ditto
  5. From knee-shield – move to dominant position vs land five continuous punches or pass guard
  6. Ditto
  7. Ditto from other side
  8. Ditto
  9. Butterfly guard – stand-up or move to dominant position vs land five continuous punches or pass guard
  10. Ditto
  11. Full guard – stand-up or move to dominant position vs land five continuous punches or pass guard
  12. Ditto
