MMA Attack and Defend the Back (diary entry)

My 1.5 hour client focused on attacks and defences to and from the back.

5-minute freestyle sparring warm-up

11 x 3-minute specific sparring

  1. Full back mount. Objective to choke, five uninterrupted strikes to the head or move to another dominant position versus objective to free one hook
  2. Ditto
  3. Single hook back mount. Objective to submit, deliver five uninterrupted strikes to the head, move to another dominant position or get a second hook in versus free single hook or turn into guard
  4. Ditto
  5. Other single hook back mount. Objective to submit, deliver five uninterrupted strikes to the head, move to another dominant position or get a second hook in versus free single hook or turn into guard
  6. Ditto
  7. Turtle position. Objective to get dominant position, deliver five uninterrupted strikes to the head, deliver five uninterrupted knee strikes or kicks to the ribs versus stand-up in strong position or sweep
  8. Ditto
  9. Rear waist-lock standing up. Objective to score take down or get dominant ground position versus escape
  10. Ditto
  11. MMA take-the-back sparring.

The lesson finished with PNF and static stretching.
