Monday evening began with hour five of my client’s course on stand-up pad-work. As previously mentioned these are both lockdown partners, one of which is on the road to recovery from a knee injury. The previous course took them through the 14 Muay Thai combination for rhythm and flow. Now we are taking each combination and applying them to the focus mitts. Having a lockdown partner allows for me to coach pad work whilst not holding pads and it can all be done in flesh. We focused on combination three, which involves lengthy punching combinations to camouflage two powerful rear leg round kick to the body. The client with the knee injury used a low leg round kick. He is also a southpaw, which presents a good challenge for his partner. We also continued to use the rockbacks to promote better flow and momentume with the strikes.
