Hour five and six were covered with Zanshin Karate’s online lessons. At their request, I taught a full deconstruction of a simple arm-bar from full-mount and, building on that, we went through some work with the gi.
Games:
- Arm-bar position. Continuous objective to maintain arm-bar position versus objective to free arm.
- S-mount position. Continuous objective to maintain S-mount versus objective to reverse position.
- Full-mount double under-hook. Continuous objective to maintain full-mount double under-hook versus free arms or reverse position.
- Arm-bar position/arms linked. Break link objective versus escape objective.
- S-mount position/arms linked. Transition to arm-bar objective versus escape objective.
- Full-mount double under-hook. Transition to S-mount versus free arms or reverse position.
Gi submissions:
- Ezekiel choke/sleeve wheel constriction from full-mount
- Bow and arrow choke from back-mount
The Ezekiel choke was executed from the full-mount position, starting with the double-under hooks and threatening the S-mount. If the opponent freed an arm and defended the S-mount the choke was used. If the choke was defended, the fighter went for the arm-bar again or went for a snake-choke. If the snake-choke was defended then the arm-bar could be used again or the arm triangle.
