Hour eight of my client’s Muay Thai course was a teep clinic. Having spent most of this course focusing on muay mat strategies, my client decided he needed to revisit the teep. After our five minutes of flow sparring we broke down teep principles in fighting in the following three minute rounds:
- Using the pendulum step forward
- Using the pendulum step backwards
- Teep against belly pad with live punches
- Teep versus punching
- Teep versus low kicks
Between rounds we looked at some variations on using the teep. We kept to only using the lead teep but my client was able to adapt to side teeps, low teeps and oblique kicks.
