Junior training exercise, "The Tunnel of Death". As fun as this drill is it can also be used for senior self defence "hard skills" training. One student puts up their personal barrier, or fence, a coaching student touches the barrier and provides a target. The student strikes the target as soon as their fence has been breached. As soon as said student strikes other students pile in with their focus mitts. The striking student covers, defends and tries to escape. Students learn that once they strike they are likely to become involved in the chaos of fighting and the odds encourage escape rather than trying to fight everyone.
